There's been a steady build-up, setting the stage in Down To Earth, upping the stakes in Bitter Rivals, and for this third volume, Eyes of the Gorgon, it all comes together in eight action packed chapters filled with heroism and human drama.

4/5: This was good. At first is was really cheesy, then it picked up the pace and got some good compelling action and conflict. I've noticed that these Wonder Woman books are really good when they avoid the trap of being campy. Looking forward to reading the last two of these and closing out the story line. Very good job, DC.

Wonder Woman is clearly in the Superman class as far as raw power goes, and is a match for the Dark Knight himself for sheer willpower, and the refusal to give up for any reason. There are some spectacular moments in this trade, from the perspectives of action and character developmnent. Rucka does a fantastic job of weaving the superhero.

Finally something happens in this series: WW fights Medusa and it's basically over before it starts, which is kind of a bummer for how long it took to build toward their rumble. However, this is immediately followed by a story in which she fights a hundred-armed purple ogre in the hall of Zeus.
